Margaret Luck

Graveside service for Margaret Rose Cowan Luck, 89, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, April 23, 2011 in the Rosehill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Cowan, Scott Miller, Michael Wedman, Kyle Nabors, Keith Nabors and Jeff Nabors.

Mrs. Luck died Thursday, April 21, 2011 in Cleburne. She was born December 16, 1921 in Berwyn, Oklahoma, the daughter of W.T. and Verdie West Cowan.

Mrs. Luck graduated from CHS in 1939 and studied at Baylor University. She was an executive secretary at Champlin Oil Company in Ft. Worth for many years, retiring in 1963. She married Burnice Luck, who preceded her in death.

In 1963 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and was a 48 year survivor.

For several years she was a bonding clerk for the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, a job that she truly enjoyed until her failing eyesight forced her to retire.

Aunt Sissy never had her own children but she adored and doted on her nieces and nephews. She was a true Christian lady with a faith that never waivered. She was a longtime member of the Henderson Street Baptist Church. Heaven surely has a new angel.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Willie Leonard; and brothers-in-law, Billy Jack Leonard and Don Clements. Survivors include her sister, Billie Clements of Dallas; brother, Ray Cowan and wife Patricia of Kennedale; nieces, Rosanne Nabors and husband J.B. of Cleburne and Debbie Daniel and husband Bobby of Fairfield; nephews, Scott Miller and Michael Wedman of Dallas, Dr. Michael Cowan and wife Emily of Ft. Worth; great nephews, Kyle and Keith Nabors of Cleburne; great nieces, Allison and Natalie Brown and Kate Cowan, all of Ft. Worth; and great-great nephews, Presley and Rian Nabors of Burleson.

Aunt Sissy, we love you and have many precious memories of you. We will forever miss you.
