Marie "Aunt Ree" Smith

Service for Marie “Aunt Ree” Smith, 89, of Cleburne will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Donald J. Earl will officiate. Burial will be in Chambers Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
Marie “Aunt Ree” passed away Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017 in Cleburne. She was born March 13, 1928 in Cleburne to Silas and Martha Griggs Thomas. She married Earnest Smith Jr. in 1966 in Cleburne.

Mrs. Smith was a nurse’s aide with over 10 years of service. She also worked as a clerk for Franklin’s Dept. Store. She was a member of Tesuya Campfire and a leader from 1973 – 1981 and a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two cousins, Avis Yarborough and Delorise Hall, both of Los Angeles, CA .; niece, Norma Green of Cleburne; great nephew, Victor Littles and wife Ebony of Plano; great nieces, Rayamada Cephus of Cleburne, Charlottee Littles of Trenton, NJ; Elezya Lane and husband Jimmy Brookins of Cleburne, and Stacy Loveless and husband Melvin, Sr. of Garland; 13 great-great nieces and nephews, Kendra Simon, DeRonn Littles, Chezarae Littles, Julian Brown, Sr., Michaeux Ervin, Joshua Abbe, Ulysses Lane, Raisa Lane, Daryn Howard, Tristan Littles, DjMontre Littles, Donavan Howard, and Melvin Loveless, Jr.; and numerous great-great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in Dec. of 1982; and nephew, Earl Green.
