Marie Pollard

Marie Simmons Pollard, beloved and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 after a brief illness.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne, Texas under the direction of Crosier-Pearson-Cleburne Funeral Home. Her husband, Joe preceded her in death in November, 2000.

Marie was born August 17, 1928, in Cleburne, Texas, the daughter of Robert Jefferson Simmons and Nettie Lee Drummond. She was reared and educated in Cleburne. She married Joe Pollard on November 8, 1943. They moved to Midland in 1948 where they resided and raised four children. She moved from Midland in 2001.

Survivors include two sons, James D. Pollard and wife, Connie, of Burleson, Louis S. (Steve) Pollard and wife, Sharon, of Stephen City, Virginia; two daughters, Carolyn M. Steadman and husband, Roger, of Forestburg and Deborah S. Pounds and husband Darryl, of Dallas; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be directed to the James L. West Alzheimer Center, 1111 Summit Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas, 76102, which was considered Mrs. Pollard's home since September 2001.
