Graveside services for Marj Welch, 81, of Glen Rose, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007 in the Rosehill Cemetery.
Marj Welch passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007 in Glen Rose. She was born November 4, 1925 in Breckenridge, TX to Edward And Sally Mason Copus. She married Weldon "Red" Welch on January 6, 1957 in Ft. Worth.
She was a hostess and cashier at Chaf-Inn in Cleburne since 1970 and retired in 2000. She left a legacy of love and generosity.
Marj Welch is survived by her daughters, Grace Anette Jackson and husband George of Milsap and Debra Kay Dotson and husband Edward of Cleburne; sons, David Oliver Newton of Burleson, Paul Douglas Newton and wife Christy of Burleson and Edward L. Newton of Ft. Worth; daughter-in-law, Becky Welch of Lubbock; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Dempsey of Glen Rose; brothers, Paul L. Copus and wife Dorothy of Glen Rose and Norman Copus of California and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, George "Dub" Welch in 2000; first husband, Hulbert Oliver Newton, May 1956 and second husband, Weldon Eugene "Red" Welch, February 5, 1990.
