Markoletta Bassinger

Service for Markoletta Bassinger, 89, a homemaker of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery. The Reverend Charles E. Payne will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bassinger passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 in Cleburne. She was born to Virgil and Laura Dixon Roberts on July 13, 1921 in Milford, Texas. She was a member of the Henderson Street Baptist Church. Markoletta married Billy Meade Bassinger on February 5, 1943 in Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 6, 1999; son, Jerry Meade Bassinger; sister, Louise Reams; and three brothers, Bud, Horace, and George Roberts.

Survivors include her grandsons, Jeffery Bassinger and wife, Suzie and Ricky Bassinger, both of Alvarado; daughter in law, Connie Bassinger of Alvarado; great grandsons, Reagan Bassinger, Cory Bassinger, Aristen Lopez and Chance Patterson; brother, Billy Joe Roberts and wife, Clydeen of Fort Worth; sister-in-law, Edith Roberts of Iraan, TX and a number of nieces and nephews.
