Marvin Stanley Hopper Sr. 85 of Abilene, TX passed away Mon Jan 26,
2009 at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 pm on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Crosier Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home in Cleburne, TX. Services conducted by close friends, Jim Patty and Clark Lehtinen. Pallbearers will be Richard Longley, David Longley, Chad Longley, Billy Barton, David Lubke and Rick Mariott. Internment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Marvin was born Sept. 4, 1923 in Johnson Co.TX near Grandview. He was the son of Summie William Hopper and Bessie Maude Cowan. Marvin married Pansy Mozel Easdon, daughter of Thomas Carrol Easdon and Mary Elizabeth Wiggins, Nov 24, 1945 in Cleburne TX. Marvin was a farmer and also worked for General Dynamics until he retired from there in 1979. Marvin lived in Johnson Co. TX untill 2003 when he and Pansy moved to Abilene, TX to live with their youngest daughter Charlotte and son-in-law Kenneth Longley.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters Ruth Hopper of Alvarado, Mildred Walls of Godley; 3 brothers Darrell Dick Hopper of Alvarado, William Harold Hopper and John Morgan Hopper, both of Grandview; and son Marvin Stanley Hopper Jr. of Grandview.
Marvin is survived by his wife Pansy; 1 brother Billie Joe Hopper and wife Ardelle of Godley; 2 daughters Mary Ruth Villegas and husband Ruben of Austin, Charlotte Annette Longley and husband Kenneth of Abilene; 6 grandchildren, Richard Longley and wife Michelle, David Longley and wife Charlotte, Michael Chad Longley and wife Abby, Beth Alexander and husband Josh, Sarah Michelle Longley, Rebecca Bishop; 14 grandchildren, Wayde Longley, Catherine Longley, Alexandra Longley, Cooper Longley, Sawyer Longley, Lydia Longley, Hope Longley, Emma Longley, Claire Longley, Jaxon Longley, Ava Longley, Gavin Alexander, Ashton Alexander, Kaitlin Longley; many nieces and nephews.
