Marvin Jones

Marvin Gean Jones passed away Friday, October 10, 2008 in Fort Worth. He was born on August 6, 1927 in Cleburne to James Marvin and Maybell Crow Jones. He was a lifetime resident of Cleburne.
Gean was a big lover of all sports. He enjoyed golf, bowling, water skiing, riding motorcycles and being with his friends.
He retired from the Santa Fe Shops as a machinist for forty-four years at the Cleburne location. He was a member of Cleburne Masonic Lodge #315 and also a 32nd degree Mason. He was a former member of Henderson Street Baptist Church where he served very faithfully for many years as deacon, director of intermediate young people, adult choir and various other places of service.
He married Maxine Rose, July 7, 1946 in Cleburne. The marriage ended in 1978, but they remained very close friends for all the years following.
Gean proudly served his country as a WW II veteran from 1945 to 1947. He served in the South Pacific area during that time in the U.S. Air Force. He was a very friendly person. He laughed a lot and was very helpful to anyone that needed help. He loved life.
He is survived by his former wife and close friend, Maxine Jones; one nephew, several cousins, his caretaker and special friend, Jo Ann Bullock and a large host of friends including his beloved cat, Susie.
