Requiem mass for Mary Lou Mahoney Aura, 86, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, May 16, 2015 in the Church of the Holy Comforter.
Mary Lou Mahoney Aura passed away at home on April 28, 2015 in Cleburne, Texas. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas on May 27, 1928 to James Everett and Bessie Marie Elliot Mahoney.
The Santa Fe Railroad brought her and her family to Cleburne in the 1970’s. She worked for CISD from 1970-2005 in the special education department. She was a longtime active member of the Church of the Holy Comforter, where she served in the Vestry and was a member of the Daughters of the King. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, John Aura in 1980.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheri Lambert and husband Ron of Shawnee, Kansas, Christy Nailling and husband Kirk of Grandview, Cindy Hummel and husband Kim, Connie Teets and husband Vance, and Jonnie Stephens and husband Monte, all of Cleburne; seven grandchildren, Jeff Lambert and wife Lisa, David Lambert, Stephen Lambert and wife Amy, all of Overland Park, Kansas, Sean Nailling of Cleburne, Texas, Kate Nailling Lunceford and husband Adam of Austin, Texas, Laura Wiginton Longoria and husband Emilio of Cleburne, and Oliver Cook of San Marcos; four great grandchildren, Maggie, William, Jackson, and Isabella. She was loved and will be missed by many.
