Services for Mary Lou Bingham, 75, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 1, 2024 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Dr. Danny Crosby officiating. Burial will follow in Ward Branch Cemetery in Glen Rose, Texas. There will be a time of visitation for friends and family from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the funeral home.
Mary passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Cleburne. She was born October 8, 1948 in Cleburne to J.K. and Thelma Bessie (Hutchison) Steele. Mary married the love of her life, Jim Finis Bingham on January 25, 1971 in Glen Rose. They were married for 26 years before his passing in 1997. She was of the Baptist faith. Mary worked as the Cafeteria Manager for Cleburne ISD for 39 years, retiring in 2016. She was a fun loving and spirited lady. Mary was known for her cooking, especially her mexican cornbread and nothing went better with that than a good margarita. She was an avid reader but also enjoyed watching westerns starring John Wayne and cooking shows with the Pioneer Woman. Mary will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Survivors include her daughter, Misti Bingham; stepdaughters, Judy Lystad & Sparky, and Vicki Gilliland & Claude; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Justin Bingham; and siblings, Volley Womack, Annette Kirkland, and James “Buzzy” Steele.
