Services for Mary Burks, 90, of Dallas, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007 in the Keene Cemetery Chapel. Pastor J. Malcolm Phipps, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Keene Cemetery.
Mary Burks passed away Saturday, March 24, 2007 in Ft. Worth. She was born June 16, 1916 in Elberton, Georgia to Eddie and Lizzie Favors Mattox.
Mrs. Burks was an active member in the Emmanuel Seventh -day Adventist Church where she served as a deaconess.
Mary Burks is survived by her nephews, Edward Mattox and wife Esther of Michigan, William Mattox and wife Adrian of California, Nathaniel Mattox and wife Aundra of Florida and Glenn Porter of Maryland; nieces, Therica Powell and husband Art of Texas, Liz Curry and husband Charlie of Texas and Brenda Mattox of Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Burks; brother, Edward Mattox, Sr. and sister-in-law, Anna Mattox.
Visitation will be held one hour before the service.
