Graveside services for Mary Sue Lyles, 78, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in the Rio Vista Cemetery. Rev. Jack McNeeley will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, January 28, 2022 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
Mary Sue was born to Thomas Edward and Dorothy Luanna Lair Rice on January 12, 1944 in Clarksville, Texas. She married Billie George Lyles on June 15, 1963 in Cleburne. Sue was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church, Cleburne. Mary Sue was devoted to her faith and served her church in any manner she could. She read her Bible daily and studied it with sincerity. Mary Sue was a writer of poems and stories that centered around God and her family. She took great pride in caring for her family and home. She was known for her love of laughter and being the ultimate prankster. She was a big jokester at heart. Mary Sue was also a lover of games and would play any and all with her family and friends, always with a cup of coffee that she had salted. She was a talented crafter, especially with sewing and knitting projects. Mary Sue’s giving nature and love of laughter and life will forever be remembered for generations to come. Mary Sue was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Betty Jean Lewis and Ross Edward Rice.
Survivors include her children, Audrey Harris and husband, Barnie, and James Lyles and his wife, Amanda; grandchildren and their spouses, Shaunie Ross (Jimmi), Hollie Welborn (Dalton), Jonah Harris (Evangiline), Tyler Lyles (Janelle) and Kinsey Gilbreath (Joey); 14 great grandchildren; sister, Dorine Hahn; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
