Mary McClure

Cleburne ? Mary Ruth McClure, 93, a loving and devoted
mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to be with
her Lord and Savior on Monday evening July 14, 2008,
following a lengthy illness and a well-lived life.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Crosier-Pearson Funeral home.
Interment at Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation : Thursday 6 p.m.
to 8 p.m. at Crosier Pearson Funeral Home.

Ruth was born on September 3, 1914 to Robert and Mary Ann
Curlee. Her blue eyes and pleasing personality quickly earned
her the nickname of "Dandy" from her father. She grew up in
a large family as the oldest of 11 siblings.

Four children were to call her Mother and three were at her bedside
when she left this world for heaven. One child, Garland Earl Earley
predeceased her in 1938, one year and 12 days after his birth.

She was Mee-Maw to her beloved grandchildren, recognizing in
each their own special talents and then selflessly encouraging
them to be all that they could be whether it was to
play piano (she could play by ear), sing, sew or play baseball.

Jack and Ruth's Caf? was a popular dining spot in Cleburne and
showcased Ruth's cooking skills that were second to none. Her
desserts, especially coconut and pecan pies, whipped up with
amazing ease delighted customers and family alike. Many were
disappointed when the caf? burned to the ground in 1963.

Her husband, Jack, died in November of 1993 after a lengthy
illness with her at his side non-stop.

Ruth served College Heights Baptist Church as Sunday School
teacher up until 1995, when, at 81, her health began to fail. She
continued to serve church members and their families with food
at times of need until she could no longer drive to deliver.

Though her family and friends will miss her deeply, we know we
will see her again beyond the sunset of this life.
