Graveside service for Mary Nette Thompson, 80, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 in Rosehill Cemetery. The Reverend Charles E. Payne will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
Mary Nette Thompson passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 in Cleburne. She was born Aug. 11, 1936 in Sherman, TX to Odell and Ada Crisp Farrington. She married Royce Elwood Thompson, Sr. on March 1, 1952 in Cleburne and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2013 after 61 years of marriage.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and a dear friend to many. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Thompson worked as a seamstress for Walls Industries until retiring. Later in life, her passion was crafting, especially crocheting and sharing with others. She sold crochet items and crochet kits via an internet business in the 1990s.
Survivors include her sons, Royce “Woody” Thompson, Jr. of Rio Vista, TX and Charles Thompson and wife Laura of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Mary Loudermilk and husband Michael of Glendale, AZ and Jenifer Houlroyd and husband Mike of Austin; great grandchildren, Arianna and Zachary Loudermilk; nephews, Jerry Watts and wife Linda of Mineral Wells and Stanley Brown, Jr. of Arlington; sister-in-law, Nadine Brown and Jim Morelan of Arlington; and a host of other relatives, friends and caregivers who will miss her greatly. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to College Heights Baptist Church, 1007 Phillips St., Cleburne, TX 76033 or to Santa Fe Trails Assisted Living Facility, 402 Colonial Drive, Cleburne, TX 76033. Donations to Santa Fe should include “ACTIVITIES in memory of MARY THOMPSON” on the memo line.
