Mary Surface

Services for Mary Louise Surface, 71, of Hillsboro, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2008 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Rev. Derwood Dubose and Rev. Mike Mizell will officiate. Burial will be in Keene Cemetery.

Mary Surface passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008 in Waco, TX. She was born May 30, 1937 in Houston, TX to Will F. and Vera Mae Rhodes Baker. She married Derrell Surface on August 17, 1954 in Houston, TX.

Mrs. Surface was a minister, pastor's wife of First Assembly of God, Hillsboro, TX and a lifelong member of First Assembly of God, Humble, TX. She was young at heart, loved to read, loved her family and people, loved to laugh and loved God with all her heart.

Mary Surface is survived by her husband, Derrell Surface of Hillsboro; daughters, Sherolyn King and husband, Charles of Livingston, TX and Leah Bass of Alvarado; sons, James C. Surface of Riverside, TX and R. Dean Surface and wife, Karen of Roseville, California; sisters, Maxine Davis and husband C.P. of Porter, TX and Virginia Merle Cash of Livingston; brothers, Clarence Baker and wife, Emelie of Yorktown, TX and Raymond Baker and wife, Rosie of Humble, TX; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons-in-law, Elray James Williams and J.Ed Bass; four sisters and two brothers.
