Mary Ward

Service for Mary K. Ward, 77, of Joshua will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Joshua Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth . Visitation will be 5-7:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Joshua. Pallbearers will be Bobby Junge, Zackery Mathis, Christopher Mathis, Wesley Taylor, John Taylor, Matthew Eppars, Phoenix Aviles and Hunter Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Collins, Kevin Welch, Roy New and Shawn Faith.

Mary passed away April 11, 2022 in Burleson. She was born April 18, 1944 in Bosque County to Woodrow Wilson and Lida May New. Mary wed Richard Mitchell Ward on May 30, 1962 in Fort Worth. She was a caregiver, homemaker and member of Joshua Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Teresa Eppars and husband, Don of Granbury, Kimberly Mathis and husband, Ken of Joshua, Kristina Taylor and husband, John of Cleburne; grandchildren, Bobby, Zachery, Megan, Christopher, Wesley, Paige, John, Matthew, Brianna, Phoenix, Hunter and Katherine; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Raymond New and wife Lavada of Crowley, and Alton New and wife Jan of Granbury; numerous nieces and nephews and was mother to many of them.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Ward in 2008; son, Jack Ward in 2016 and sister, Ladena McDonald in 2013.
