Graveside service for Mary F. Winter, 92, of Rio Vista, will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Friday, March 23, 2018 at Grange Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Mary F. Winter passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 in Cleburne. She was born November 16, 1925 in the Sand Flat Community. She married Dana Gene Winter on March 4, 1950 and he preceded her in death on September 6, 2010.
Mrs. Winter was a beautician for 42 years. She also owned and operated Beauty Bazaar for 18 years and the Beauty Box for five years. She was chairman of the committee to raise money to build the Rio Vista Civic Center. Mary loved horses and rode all her life. She also raised Simmental cattle and showed them. Mary loved cooking, keeping house, taking care of grandchildren and working for the Lord. She was a member of the Rio Vista Church of Christ.
Survivors include her beloved grandchildren, Richard D. Winter of Crowley, Christopher A. Winter of Arlington and Dana W. Winter of Eastland; four great grandchildren that include Raemond and Randi; brother, J. V. Looper and wife Sue of Whitney; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael W. Winter on July 8, 2016; four brothers, A.J. Looper, Leroy Looper, John Looper, and Marshall Looper; and sisters, Viola McGinnis and Pauline Finley.
