Marybelle Owen

Marybelle Owen was born March 3, 1906 to Willis Elta and Estella Mae Mundell Huffman in Goodrich Kansas. She married Alavo Elwyn Owen on September 12, 1944 in Parker (Linn Co.), Kansas. After marriage they lived in Dunning Nebraska and Loveland, Colorado until 1998, when she moved to Cleburne to be with her son.
Mrs. Owen was a retired English teacher and girls dean. She formerly taught at Pratt Valley Academy in Nebraska, Enterprise Academy in Kansas, Plainview Academy in South Dakota and Broadview Academy in Illinois. She was a member of the Joshua Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Marybelle Owen is survived by her son, Elwyn Owen and wife Karen of Cleburne; daughter, Dina Schwartz and husband Terry of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren, Teresa Couch, Mark Owen, Tim Owen, Mindy Owen, Sheree Schwartz and Terra Schwartz; great grandchild, Ryler Couch; two nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Avalo Owen in 1990.
