Matias Ortiz Martinez

A funeral mass for Matias Ortiz Martinez, 91, of Cleburne, will be held at 9:00 A.M., Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with Father Sergio Rizo officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 27, 2024 from 5-8:00 P.M., with a Rosary starting at 6:00 P.M., in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. 

Matias was born February 24, 1933 in Mexico to Priciano Ortiz and Petra Martinez. He passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 in Cleburne. 

Survivors include his sons, Raul Ortiz, Arturo Ortiz, Joel Ortiz, Matias Ortiz, Jose Manuel Ortiz; daughters, Maria Guadalupe Ortiz, Belia Ortiz, Hermelinda Ortiz, Araceli Ortiz, Alicia Ortiz, Graciela Ortiz, Hilda Ortiz and Rubi Ortiz; 29 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Matias was preceded in death by his wife, Altagracia Reyes de Ortiz; son, Gonzalo Ortiz; daughters, Maria Guadalupe Ortiz, and Hilda Ortiz.
