Matt Melton

Services for Matt E. Melton, 68, of Alvarado will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 24, 2008 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Dave Carfrey will officiate. Burial will be in the Acton Cemetery.
Mr. Melton passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008 in Ft. Worth. He was born Oct. 23, 1939 in Browns Fork, Kentucky to Daniel and Rebecca Lowe Melton. He married Annie Nichols on Feb. 24, 1996 in the Buel Baptist Church in Johnson County. Mr. Melton was a retired turck driver for the Red Arrow Freight Co. for 35 years and was a member of the Buel Baptist Church. He had a Bluegrass band for many years called Matt Melton and The County Seat.
Mr. Melton is survived by his wife, Annie Melton of Alvarado; sons, Scott Melton and wife Mari of Quinlan and Rick Melton of Alvarado; daughter, Clara Beall and husband Richard of Granbury; grandchildren, Sativa Maifeld, Nikke Balkcom and Sarah Melton; great grandchildren, Devon, Justice, Cameron, Melissa and Collin; brother, Lawrence Melton and sisters, Lucy, Nancy and Margie.
