Services for Matthew "Larry" Willis, 56, of Granbury, will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2009 in the First Baptist Church, Godley. The Rev. Ken Coleman will officiate. Burial will be in Godley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry McDougal, William "Bondo" McHam, Robert Greenfield, James Adair, Jerry Baldwin and Zach Hardin. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Leverette, David Burkhart, Bill Atkins and Stan West.
Matthew Larry Willis passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 in Granbury. He was born January 13, 1953 in Cleburne to Fred and Jean Willis. He married Rose T. Tamez on September 3, 1994 in Ft. Worth.
Larry managed Corner Post Hardware in Godley for over 20 years and enjoyed a round of golf. He touched the hearts of everyone he met. Larry was a caring husband, father, son, grandfather, brother and friend.
Larry is survived by his wife and soulmate of 20 years, Rose T. Willis of Granbury; son, Cody Willis of Comanche; daughter, Amanda Gustafson and husband, Brad of Austin; grandchildren, Tate and Jack Gustafson; father, Fred Willis and step-mother, Laura of Godley; sister, Fredda Alldredge and husband, Jimmy of Glen Rose; step-brother, Bruce Gibson of Austin; step-sister, Gwena Rhodes and husband, Mark of Cleburne and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Willis.
