Service for Maurine Prescher, 89, of Grandview, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Living Proof Baptist Church. Pastor Truitt Cockrell will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. A visitation will be at the Church prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Nichols, Don Poteet, Tom Poteet, Lorenzo Morales, Christian Allen and Bobby Crow.

Maurine passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in Grandview. She was born November 10, 1933 in Cleburne to William Delma and Bertie May Dean. Maurine married her first husband Milton Edward Nichols on June 23, 1967. They were married for 29 years before his passing in 1996. She then married her second husband, Milton Oliver Prescher on December 27, 1997, and they were married until his passing in 2005. Maurine was a founding member of Living Proof Baptist Church, and she had a devoted faith in her Lord. She worked as a bookkeeper in geriatric healthcare and retired from that industry. Maurine & Milton (Papa) owned Freezette in Midlothian for many years. She believed in presenting your “best” in all you did. She had a strong will and independent streak. Maurine was a feisty and funny lady with a giving nature, who loved everyone. She also was an animal lover of all kinds. Some of the things she enjoyed were puzzles, sewing, shopping and camping. She was famous for her cooking, especially biscuits and gravy, and her homemade pies. Some of her favorites were “As Seen on TV” gadgets and Christmas decor. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Milton Nichols and wife, Vicki, Rodney Nichols and Renn; grandchildren, Leshawn Nichols Sims, Michael Nichols and wife, Ashley, Jodi Jackson and husband, Reid, Mina Morales and husband, Lorenzo, Brandon Nichols and wife, Brittany, P.J. Nichols, Amanda Nichols, and Maci; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Billy Dean; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sister, Ruby Prescher, and brother, Jack Dean.
