Max Wiginton

A memorial service for Max T. Wiginton, 68, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 26, 2023, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel.

Max T. Wiginton passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, in Cleburne. He was born on November 30, 1954, in Cleburne, to Tommy and Joyce (Taylor) Wiginton. Max shared his life with Nan Newsome since 1994 and they married on December 8, 2010 in Cleburne. Max was a Brakeman for Santa Fe Railroad and was of the Episcopal faith. Max was an outgoing and easy-going man; he never met a stranger and had countless friends. He was a great storyteller and could be found smoking a cigar on the porch and sharing stories most days. His strong will and independent streak cleared the path for him to definitely do things his own way.

Max is survived by his wife, Nan Wiginton; children, Laura Longoria and husband Emilo, Joe Peacock, and Amanda McClaran; grandchildren, Isabella, Charles, Emma, Wyatt, Walton, Mary Kate, Jamie and Jodie; sister Talana Davidson and husband Steve; nephew, Dereck Davidson; niece Mindy Carter; a host of other relatives and friends including Crystal North, Brian Michael, and Manuel Garza. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Joyce Wiginton, and son, Brent Peacock.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to Wings Over Texas Hospice, and especially to his RN’s, Lana and Mary Jo.
