Services for Rev. Maxwell Baker, 86, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 in the Nolan River Rd. Baptist Church. Rev. Larry York and Mr. George William Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park.

Rev. Maxwell Baker passed away Monday, May 26, 2008 in Cleburne. He was born January 5, 1922 in Malvern, Arkansas to Max Oden and Grace Barker Baker. He married Sarah McNew on July 7, 1947 in Malvern, Arkansas.

Rev. Baker graduated with a bachelor's degree from Ouachita Baptist College. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth obtaining a Bachelor of Divinity degree and Eastern Michigan University in Ypsalanta, Michigan, obtaining a Masters of Education degree.

Rev. Maxwell Baker is survived by his wife, Sarah M. Baker of Cleburne; sons, James Maxwell Baker and wife Julie of Gordonville, TX and George William Baker and wife Rosa of Daytona, Florida; daughter, Sarah Beth Meeks and husband John R. of Joshua; four grandchildren, Jennifer Renee Baker, John Maxwell Meeks, Chad Nicholas Baker and Christopher James Baker; great-grandson, Jude Patrick; sister, Maxine Kemp of Dardenelle, Arkansas and a number of nieces and nephews.
