Mrs. Underwood passed away on Friday, August 22, 2008 in Cleburne. She was born August 27, 1922 in Cleburne to Claude and Olga Daily Smith. She married Herbert Lelan Underwood, Sr.
Mrs. Underwood was a homemaker and a member of Henderson Street Baptist Church.Melba J. Underwood is survived by three sons, Rev. Bob Underwood and wife Linda, of Granbury, Dan Underwood, of Bedford and Herb Underwood, of Cleburne; brothers, Otho Smith, of Lake Worth and Sam Smith, of Rustin, Louisiana; sisters, Mary Burt and husband, Rev. Dan, of Cleburne and Faye Smith, of Everman; grandchildren, Kari, Cliff, James, Bobby Ray and LeeAnn; great-grandchildren, Rikki, Toni, Sami, Trinity, Zeke and Eden and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Lelan Underwood, Sr.
