Service for Mellisa Kay Hashaw, 33, of Weatherford will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 in the First Baptist Church of Cleburne. The Reverend Scott Wells will officiate. Pallbearers will be Little Joe Schenk, Jimmy Haney, Andrew Haney, Lewis Haney, Jeff Haney, Jody Hogan, Doug Williams, and Mike Hoggard. A reception that is open to family and friends will be held after the service. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
Mellisa Kay Hashaw passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 in Parker County. She was born June 1, 1983 in San Saba to Donna Kay Woodley Schenk and David Wayne Hashaw.
Mellisa graduated from Arlington Career Institute as a paralegal in 2006 and worked in a law firm with 10 years of service. She had a creative spirit and was an artist of all kinds. Mellisa was an active member of a 12 step fellowship that saved her life. Her children were her life and she was a wonderful mother.
Survivors include her mother, Donna Schenk of Cleburne; father, David Wayne Hashaw of Llano; two children, Gage Lewis Haney and Kaylynn Dawn Haney of Cleburne; boyfriend, Jay Lee of Weatherford; stepson, Kaedyn James Garcia of Plano; brother, Little Joe Schenk of Brownwood; sisters, April Vasquez of Brownwood, Heather Hashaw, Kayla Hashaw, and Flora Hashaw, all of Burnett, Leslie Roland of Burleson, and Bridget Woodley, of Brownwood; grandparents, JoAn and Earl Schenk of Brownwood; father of her children and lifelong friend, Jimmy Haney of Cleburne; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Peanut Butter and Mini Mo. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Geraldine and Thomas Alton Woodley; cousin, Jerry Glen Woodley; and best friend, Jessika Diaz.
