Melvin Leon Kirkland, 82, of Alvarado, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020 in Cleburne. He was born September 8, 1937 in Whitney to Cecil Leon and Maxine (Mahurin) Kirkland. Melvin had owned convenience stores for over 30 years and was a Baptist.
Melvin is survived by his brothers, Eddie Joe Kirkland of Alvarado, Larry Dee Kirkland and wife Linda of Streetman and Danny Ray Kirkland of Alvarado.
Melvin is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack Weldon Kirkland, Kenneth Wayne Kirkland and Jerry Elden Kirkland.
A private burial will be conducted with a memorial service at a later date.
