Melvin Parnell

Visitation for Melvin Lee Parnell 75, of Cleburne will be 5:30-7:00 P.M., Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the funeral home.

Melvin Lee Parnell passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 in Cleburne. He was born on September 29, 1943 in Cleburne to William Otis and Ira Mae (Winkler) Parnell. Melvin married Gloria Jean Garrett on January 6, 1962 in Cleburne. He was a supervisor for Santa Fe Railroad with over 35 years of service. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church, loved singing gospel music with his brother David and participating in many mission trips helping renovate churches.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Gloria Parnell of Cleburne; son, Richard (Rick) Parnell and wife Tina of Cleburne; daughter Christy Williams and husband Richard of Cleburne; grandchildren, Ryan Parnell, Rachel Parnell and Jeremy Williams all of Cleburne; brothers, William Parnell and wife Jean of Whitney, David Parnell and wife Brenda of Cleburne and Tolbert Parnell and wife Virginia of Kopperl and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
