Funeral services for Melvina (Mel) Lee Lasater, 77, of Cleburne, will be conducted 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 8, 2011 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
Mrs. Lasater passed away in Cleburne on Monday, September 5, 2011 surrounded by loved ones. She was born to Elmer Harley and Isabel Boyles Hawkins on June 28, 1934 in Kansas. She married Guy Alden Lasater on June 27, 1970 in Pasadena, Texas. They owned and operated IRA Printing in Kennedale from 1987-2002. She was a Christian lady with a big heart, always putting others needs before her own. "Granny" was always there for her family and those she loved. She had a true talent for listening. She enjoyed bird watching, flowers, rock collecting, and watching cooking and religious programs. Mel's loving nature and giving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Hubert Brungardt, Jr.; daughter, Linda Kay Terpe; and siblings, Donnie Hawkins, Ellie Ousdahl and Margie Sisco.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Karen Guidry and Paul, Richard Lasater and Tammie, Ronnie Lasater and Pam, Troy Brungardt and Kim, Steven Paul Lasater and Tammy, Steve Brungardt and Kimberly, Laura Sharp and Ben, Tammy Nobles, and Angie Nobles; grandchildren, Marc, Mike, Timothy, Mandy, Joshua, Joseph, Melissa, Sandy, Karla, Kayla, Chelsea, Micah, John, James, Brett, Jamie, Bradley, Josh, Breanna, Sabrina, Brandi, April, Allison, Nicholas, Lindsey, Kristen, Brayden, Jeremy, Jacob, and Haley; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Willie Snead and Edie Kiel; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
