Merle Bascom

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service for Merle Eugene Bascom, 85, of Richardson, Texas at Keene Memorial Park Cemetery in Keene, Texas on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Pastor Jonathan Aguinaga will officiate.

The family will receive visitors from 6– 8 P.M. Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home in Cleburne, Texas.

Merle passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Richardson, Texas. He was born in Keene, Texas on November 14, 1936, the youngest son of Mabel (Lyons) and Raymond Bascom. Merle served his country in the United States Army from 1960-1962. He married June Flowers on June 16, 1960, in Keene. Most of his career was devoted to finance administration for secondary and higher education institutions.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June (Flowers) Bascom; and brothers, Raymond, Roger and Albert Bascom. He is survived by his sons, Kevin Bascom of Walla Walla, Washington; Kimber Bascom and wife, Tomorrow Shea, of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Lydia Calhoun and husband, Craig, of Sandpoint, Idaho; daughter Teresa Bascom of Richardson, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley and Mitchell Bascom, Lily Bascom, Gracie Bascom-Brown and William Bascom; and great grandson Zane Bascom.
