Mrs. Duvall passed away on January 2, 2010 in Cleburne, Texas. She was born to the late, Hezekiah Leonard and Maudie Mae Ledbetter Meador on January 15, 1925 in Grandview, Texas. Merle worked as a secretary for years in the wholesale tools industry. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John C. Duvall; and four sisters.

Survivors include her son, John C. Duvall, Jr; 2 grandchildren, Steven and Shawn Duvall; brothers, Jimmy and Dalco Meador; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
