She was born September 12, 1915 in Cleburne, Texas to John Sands and Mertie E. Flenigan McKenzie.
She was a physical education teacher at El Paso High School. She was the school's volleyball coach for 27 years.
Mrs. Blackstock is survived by one brother, Loy D. McKenzie and wife, Katie; two nieces and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
