Michael (Peewee) Abshire, 57, passed away in Fort Worth on Sunday, August 2, 2009. He was born April 15, 1952 in Cleburne. Michael worked as an auto mechanic for years. He served in the United States Army and was of Baptist faith. Papa, as his grandchildren called him, was an avid NASCAR fan and fisherman. He even caught the record Black Bass on the Navaro Mills Lake. Peewee was a volunteer fire fighter with several local fire houses. He was preceded in death by his father, William Ralph Abshire; sister, Cindy Abshire; nephew, Keith Sheffield; and great nephew, Jeremy Smith. Michael's love for life and ability to put a smile on your face and laugh in your heart will be missed greatly by all those that knew and loved.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Survivors include his mother and step father, Laverne and Johnnie Boyd; daughters, Jeanna Upchurch and Mindy Green; grandchildren, Adam, Tiffany, Dillon, and Preston; sisters, Anita Fowler and husband, Mocus, Becky Vaughn and husband, Wayne, and Patty Henninger; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
