Michael G. Honea

Michael G. Honea, 59, of Alvarado and Lehighton, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South with his son by his side.

Born on January 10, 1965, in Cleburne, Texas, he was the son of Aaron O. Honea and Willie Nell (Ransom) Shields.

Michael spent most of his life as a butcher for various places. He was an extraordinary cook—he loved hosting get togethers and entertaining. He had a great sense of humor, he was truly the life of the party. Michael was also a great wood worker, he could make just about anything you asked him to. He enjoyed old western movies, riding his Harley, and sipping on a good margarita every now and again.

Michael was a true family man, he loved spending time with his wife, son, sister and extended family, especially his two great nieces who he babysat weekly.

Michael will be dearly missed by his wife, Tracy Honea, of Lehighton, PA; son, Jarett M. Honea and his fiancée, Klarissa Mertz, of Bethlehem, PA; mother, Nell Shields, of Alvarado; step-mother, Sara Davenport; brother, Robby Honea and his wife, Ingrid, of Whitney; two sisters, Lisa Lanham, of Alvarado and Denise Honea; one half-sister, Jessie Shields; two step-brothers, Billy Dilleshaw and Kenneth Hunter; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Aaron O. Honea.

A gathering and visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home, 512 North Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, TX 76033. Inurnment of Michael’s remains will take place at a later date.
