Service for Michael Lester Marshall-Clay, 68, of Cleburne, will be conducted at11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at St Paul CME Church. Reverend Patricia McWilliams will be officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00-10:30 A.M. Wednesday prior to service.
Michael Lester Marshall Clay passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Fort Worth. He was born July 23, 1952 to J.W. Marshall and Arebella Faye (Holloway) Marshall. He attended public schools in Cleburne and married Phala Jones in 1977. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and worked for Santa Fe Railroad.
Michael was a longtime member of St. Paul C.M.E. Some of Michael’s favorite things were fishing, traveling and bar-b-quing. He especially loved being with his family and working in his church.
Michael is survived by his mother, Faye Clay; sisters Sharell Clay and Melba Clay; brothers, Johnnie Warren and wife Gloria, Cornelious Warren; step-children, Tyrone Nunn and Causha Jones: grandchildren, Tyrin Jones, Kayvon Nunn, Paisley Nunn and many nieces, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Phala Clay on August 11, 2020; father J.W. Marshall ; step-father, James Clay and sister Patricia Evans.
