Mike passed away after suffering a heart attack while on vacation in Orleans, Massachusetts. Mike was born in Fort Worth on May 9, 1945. He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Rich on July 9, 1966 in Everman. Mike worked as a foreman machinist with Southwest Industrial Services for the past 43 years. Mike was a charter member of New Life Baptist Church for over 28 years, where he was active in anything the church needed, including serving as a deacon, song leader, Sunday school teacher, and providing general maintenance. It has been said that people did not have to ask if he was a Christian, that they just knew it. He was the spiritual leader of his family. Paw Paw, as his grandchildren called him, was a man of few words, but when he did speak it was important. He often told the grandchildren, "Think twice and speak once." Mike's surprising sense of humor, strong faith, uncompromising character, and giving spirit will be missed greatly by all that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Fay Williams.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Beverly Williams; father, John W. Williams and wife, Mary; children, Craig Williams and wife, Mandy of Stratford, MO, Kevin Williams and wife, Belinda of Cleburne, and Angie Ray and husband, Kevin of Covington; eight grandchildren, Riley, Reagan, Hadley, Caiden, Ty, Emma, Devin, and Dawson; sisters, Gwen Miles and husband, Jerry, Donna Garrett and husband, Donnie, and Martha Jackson and husband, Johnny; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
