Services for Michael Ottis Wylie, 60, of Grandview, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2008 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Rev. Randy Sheridan and Youth Pastor, Rodney Morphew will officiate. Burial will be in Watts Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tristen Wylie, Fred Lyne, Dusty Ford, Mike Gaudet, Thomas Weaver and William Weaver. Honorary pallbearers will be Jarod Kruger, Hunter Hardin and Hunter Russell.
Michael Ottis Wylie passed away Saturday, August 30, 2008 in Ft. Worth. He was born August 17, 1948 in Cleburne to Ottis and Melba Webb Wylie. He married Nancy Kay McMillian on June 2, 1979 in Crowley.
Mr. Wylie was a Tarrant County Sheriff's Deputy, Hemphill County Sheriff's Deputy, a Lt. with the Crowley Police Department, Detective for the Ft. Worth Police Department and a Detective for the Johnson County Sheriff's Department, where he retired inApril of 2008. He was an Instructor for various law enforcement agencies and held a Master Peace Officer Certificate and was a Medal of Valor recipient from the Ft. Worth Police Department.
He was a member of Watts Chapel Methodist Church and the Johnson County Republican Party.
Michael Wylie is survived by his wife Nancy Wylie of Grandview; sons, Michael D. Wylie and wife, Shonda of Springtown and Matt Wylie and wife, Becky of Rio Vista; daughter, Shirley Beggs and husband, Barry of Grandview; grandchildren, Tristen Wylie,Hunter Wylie, Nicholas Wylie, Braukel Beggs, Kayle Beggs, Skyler Wylie and Haley Wylie; sister, Pam Weaver and husband, Alan and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis and Melba Wylie and brothers, Jeff and Robert Wylie.
