Michael Young

Services for Michael Elton Young, 65, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Monday in the Calvary Baptist Church. Reverend Charles Payne, assisted by Reverend Brooks Monk, will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Point Cemetery in Lillian, Texas. Pallbearers will be Braxton Milam, Louis Marino, Matthew Harp, Erick Marino, Edwin Marino, Chad Kelly and Earl Sides. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaac Holt, Adrian Marino, and Shane Williams. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home.

Michael Young went home to be with our Lord on October 11, 2019 surrounded by his family. Michael was born November 10, 1953 in Limestone, Maine to Horace Ray and Mildred Earlene (Whisenhunt) Young. He married Theresa Marino, the love of his life, on November 20, 1981 in Cleburne. Together they raised 3 daughters, who were his pride and joy.

A devout Christian who loved the Lord, Mike was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne where he served in children's ministry for more than 25 years. He was an avid music fan of different genres and found great joy in using his God-given sense of humor to keep those around him laughing. Mike passionately and unashamedly shared Jesus with everyone he met and lived out his testimony!

After a life well-lived, he will forever be remembered as a loving husband, giving father, super "Papa", special brother, friend to many, servant and encourager.

Michael is survived by his wife, Theresa Young; daughters, Amanda Milam and husband Brad, Jennifer Young, Haylee Young; grandchildren, Braxton Milam, Marley Kappel, Hollie Littrell; sister, Teresa Phillips and husband Jimmy; brother, Stephen Young and wife Debbie; stepfather, Charles Bradley and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by: mother Mildred Bradley and father Horace “Ray” Young.
