Service for Mickey Sims, 71, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Brooks Monk will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Floyd Camp, Bobby Self, Larry Durham, Gale Neff, Benny Earl Johnson, Wesley Montgomery, Jack Wylie, Michael Bayless, Matt Bayless, Ricky Joe Carroll, Jr. and Mickie Lee Bayless.
Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Mickey Sims passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 in Cleburne. He was born September 15, 1943 in Cleburne to Jewell Ezell and Crayola Pearl Allen Sims. He married Shirley Brown on April 19, 1966 in Cleburne.
Mr. Sims was retired from Arlington ISD. He was the life of any family gathering and enjoyed playing dominoes and meeting with coffee buddies at Chaf-In. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Shirley Sims; daughters, Donna Patterson and husband Bill and Penny Carroll and husband Ricky; grandchildren, Michael Bayless and wife Mandy, Matt Bayless, Ricky Joe Carroll, Jr. and wife Magan, Mickie Lee Bayless and wife Sonni, and James Patterson and wife Jodi; great grandchildren, Kimberly, Katelynn, Mitchell, Jackson, Braxton, Averie, Laken, Colt, Holly, Brynlynn, and Cason; siblings, Sue Walton and husband Andy, Sammy Sims and wife Helen, Jacky Sims and wife Mary Jean, Jimmy Sims and wife Janice; sister-in-law, Shirley Sims; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Mitchell Jack Bayless; brother, Bobby Sims; and sisters, Ruth Carper, Peggy Claybrook and Nell Stanley.
