Funeral services for Mike Norris, 67, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church (Family Life Center). Reverend Charles Payne and Reverend Earl Sides will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Hopewell Cemetery.
Mike passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, in Fort Worth. He was born August 2, 1954 in Mercedes, Texas to James Mathis and Doris Adele (Williams) Norris. Mike married Elizabeth Lee Payne April 7, 1990, in Cleburne. Mike was an electrician for Archer Western with 45 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne. Mike was known for his work ethic, loving heart, and caring nature. He was a loving husband, father, and “papa”. He was known for always extending his help to anyone who knew him. He never met a stranger and was one of the hardest working men you would ever meet. Mike loved fishing, spending time with family, and working on various projects. He was a listening ear and word of wisdom. He was a hero to many, and you could not help but love him if you were blessed to know him. His love for family and friends knew no boundaries, social status, and circumstance. Mike was truly a great man that was deeply loved by many. Mike’s giving nature and caring heart will be greatly missed in the days ahead.
Mike is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elizabeth (LeLe) Norris of Cleburne; children, Amy Doggett and Dakon of Justin, David Norris of Denton, Megan Myers and Sam of Fort Worth, James Michael Norris II “Sonny” and Lindsey of Cleburne, Laura Lee’Ann Massey and Justin of Blum; grandchildren, Coltin, Daylee, Daxon, Kaleb, Arlee, Kelsey, James, Carah, Claire, Gage, Lynnleigh and Cameron; sister, Jannett Bell of Azle; nephews, James Bell and Jason Bell.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Laura and Debbie Norris.
