Mildred Atlas
Services for Mildred Louise Kile Atlas, 94, of Grandview and West will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in the Rosehill cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Kile Atlas, Raymond Killis Holt, Sam Beaver, Gary Don Holt, Robert Taylor and Rufus Kilgore.
Mrs. Atlas passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 in Clifton. She was born May 10, 1917 in the Antioch Community in Johnson County to Walter Brown and Gertrude Mae Cain Kile. She married the love of her life Sammie Burton Atlas on Nov. 10, 1940 in Ft. Worth. He preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1990. Mrs. Atlas attended school in Island Grove and Grandview where she graduated in 1935. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Alvarado and then in West.
Mrs. Altas is survived by sons, Jerry Lee Atlas and wife Diane of Burleson, Jimmy Joe Atlas and wife Claudia of Grandview; daughter, Stella Teresa Holt and husband Gary Don of Clifton; five grandchildren, Jeremy Kile Atlas and wife Suzanne of Arlington, Amanda Allen Atlas of Arlington,
Kilee Elaine Boyd and Raymond Killis Holt both of Clifton, Precious Carolyn Atlas-Beaver and husband Sam of Ft Worth; five great grandchildren, Lauryn Paige Atlas, Zachary Kile Atlas and Aidan Allen Atlas all of Arlington, Seth Walter Boyd and Alexis Kate Boyd of Clifton and nephew, Robert Kile Taylor of Washington.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gertrude Kile, brother, Ellis Lee Kile, husband, Sammie Burton Atlas, son, Sammie Ray Atlas, great grand-daughter, Haylee Don Holt and sister, Grace Kile Taylor.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of West, 411 West Pine St., West, TX 76691 and the First United Methodist Church of Alvarado 301 S. Spears St. Alvarado, TX 76009.
