Mildred Gurganus

Graveside service for Mildred Marie Gurganus, 95, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 in Bono Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled.

Mildred Marie Gurganus passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 in Bedford. She was born Jan. 16, 1921 to John and Mattie Abner Vaughn. She married Tommy Gurganus and he preceded her in death in 1987.

Mrs. Gurganus owned and operated several businesses throughout her life including truck stops, bars, and antique stores. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother; great grandmother, sister, and a friend to many. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Johnny Pearce and wife Rita of Cleburne; grandchildren, Debra Kelly of Cleburne and Tammy Dyer of Arlington; numerous great grandchildren; niece, Lenda Scott; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
