Morris Young

Services for Morris Young, 83, of Keene, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2009 in the Lane Prairie Baptist Church, 412 CR 704, Joshua. The Rev. Jerry Clements will officiate. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Merkel Cemetery, Merkel, TX. Pallbearers will be James Phillip Murray II, Philip Lee Wright, Dr. Ellis Minton, Howard Ellig, Roy Elsner and Steve Minton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Weldon Huneycutt, Dr. Cecil Huneycutt, Dr. Arvel Huneycutt and Dr. Charles George.

Morris Young passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in Ft. Worth. He was born November 8, 1925 in Hawley, TX to Rupert Wiley and Lottie Lee Smith Young. He married Reba Huneycutt on May 10, 2001 in Ft. Worth.
Mr. Young worked for Ector County ISD for 15 years. He also worked in oilfield related industries in the Odessa area for many years. He was a member of Lane Prairie Baptist Church, where is was very active. and the Masonic Lodge 320, Scottish Rite.
Morris enjoyed traveling, playing classical guitar and he enjoyed being with his family.
Morris Young is survived by his wife, Reba Young of Keene; sons, David Young and wife, Cathy of Sachse and Aubrey Young and wife, Patti of Buckeye, AZ; daughter, Sharon Moody and husband, Michael of Snyder; step-daughters, Linda Wilson, Joella Parker and Mary Minton; step-sons, Jessie Minter, Johnny Minter, Victor Minter and James Murray II and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanette Young in 1975 and wife, Thelma R. Young in 2000.
