Nell Neal

Funeral services for Nell Wiseman Neal, 99, lifetime resident of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 29, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery, Cleburne. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 28, 2014.

Mrs. Neal passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 surrounded by loved ones in Cleburne, Texas. She was born to Hugh William and Lottie Marble Wiseman on February 9, 1915 in Cleburne.

Nell was a graduate of Cleburne High School, class of 1934 and continued on to Cullens School of Business. She married Morris Shepphard Neal on January 16, 1942 after a 10 year courtship. Nell worked for the Johnson County Clerk office from 1942-1949 and again from 1965-1985 when she retired as Head Deputy Clerk. She was the co-owner and operator of Morris Neal Handy Hamburgers for over 50 years as well. Nell was an avid bridge player and football fan for countless years. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. Nell was known for her Hot Water Chocolate Cake, which completed all family gatherings. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Nell was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gary Wiseman Neal; and siblings, Morris F. Wiseman, Lillian Belcher, Lottie Lee Bates, Willie Mae Ryzer, Margory Wiseman and Mamie Wiseman.

Survivors include five generations of nieces and nephews, including great nephew, Guy James and his wife, Candy; nieces, Jeannine Everett and Cynthia McNeel; and a host of other relatives and friends.
