Service for Neva “Grandma” Nutt, 95, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 8, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Elder Larry Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Keene Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Neva “Grandma” Nutt passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 in Cleburne. She was born Dec. 25, 1920 in Sherman Township, MI to Avery and Ida Ryckman Ferguson. She married Hiram “Ted” Nutt in May of 1938 in MI. and he preceded her in death in 1990.
Grandma was a homemaker and also worked in the paint shop at Brandom Kitchens before retiring. She was a loving wife, mother, grand-, great-grand-, and great-great grandmother, and a friend to many. She was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith.
Survivors include her children, Bill Nutt and wife Sue and Mary Maxey and husband Phillip, all of Cleburne; ten grandchildren, Serena Garvin, Chris Thorpe, Becky Pickens, Angie Turner, Scott Nutt, Lloyd Maxey, Quita Boley, Velda Claxton, Colleen Maxey, and Robert Maxey; 19 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Elsie DeLeon and Florence Thorpe; granddaughter, Stephanie DeLeon; and four brothers.
