Service for Norma “Nanny” Lay, 80, of Joshua will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 in the NorthPointe First Baptist Church in Joshua. Dr. David Hampton will officiate, assisted by Pastor Keith Anderson. Burial will be in Caddo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 P.M., Sunday, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
Norma Lay passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 in Cleburne. She was born Feb. 15, 1936 in Memphis to Ray Lionel and Lindsey Lee Grisso Bass. She married Bobby Eugene Lay on July 30, 1954 in Joshua and he preceded her in death in 1989.
She was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and a dear friend to many. Norma loved her Lord and spent her life serving him. She was a member of the NorthPointe First Baptist Church in Joshua.
Survivors include her children, Terissa Johnson of Joshua, Bobby Lay and wife Amy of Plymouth, MN, and Judi DeShong and husband David of Joshua; and sister-in-law, Betty Montgomery; grandchildren, Justin, Randy, Holly, Blake, Lindsey, Jake, Bobby and Lauren; great grandchildren, Jarrett, Makenzie, Ashlyn, Kate, Callen and Dakota; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her greatly. She was also preceded in death by her parents; husband Bobby E. Lay and sister, Carol Ann Doherty.
