Norma Schaefer
Services for Norma Schaefer, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in the Ascension Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be Jerry Pollock, Jeff Pollock, Karl Wedel, Robert Ledlow, Bill Preston and Blake Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Clay, Loren McCroskey, Matthew Pannek and Calvin Jahnke. Graveside services will follow at 4:00 P.M. in the Prairie Lea Cemetery, Brenham. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ascension Lutheran Church, 205 South Ridgeway Drive, Cleburne, Texas 76033.
Norma Hanna Louise Jahnke Schaefer was born August 3, 1911 in Brenham, Texas and went to her eternal home with her heavenly Father on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the age of 99 ½ years. She married Otto William Schaefer on April 14, 1930. They were married 62 years at the time of his death on September 9, 1982. Norma was a lifelong Lutheran, active in many churches from Brenham to Dallas to Cleburne and was a faithful member of each. She had a very loving and generous spirit. She served as President with Schaefer Lath Supply, before retiring. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Edward F. and Sarah Winkelmann Jahnke; husband, Otto William Schaefer, sisters, Hertha, Lydia and Elma; brothers, Arnold, Robert and Edward.
Survivors include her niece Evelyn Smith of Waxahachie; great nieces and nephews, Calvin Jahnke, Arno, Glen Allen and Donald Lee Jaster, Patricia A. Pollock, Pamela D. Loesch and Gregory Schomburg; great-great nieces and nephews, Michelle Pannek, Jeffrey Pollock, Amber Dunlap, Ashley and Blake Thompson; great-great-great nieces and nephews, Noah, Elijah, Aiden, Liam and Luke Pannek, Kailey, Brynn and Kayden Pollock, Jackson, Logan and Mason Dunlap and River Phillips, as well as a host of other extended relatives and friends.
