Odell Elam

Service for Odell Finis Elam, 89, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 19, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Kenneth Coleman and the Reverend Larry York will officiate. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday.

Mr. Elam passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 in Cleburne. He was born Dec. 14, 1921 in Covington, to Albert Riley and Letha Prince Elam. He married Mary Pauline Brown on Feb. 3, 1940 in Glen Rose.

Mr. Elam served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was retired with 40 years service with the City of Cleburne, where he was the Public Relations Director from 1947 to 1987. He was a member of the Nolan River Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Elam of Cleburne; sons, Gary Elam and wife Cathie of Mansfield and Danny Elam of Cleburne; grandchildren, Jeff Elam and Mariah Elam; brother, Billy Elam; several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert R. and Letha Elam; brother, Albert R. Elam, Jr. and sister, Sissy Engle Foresight.
