Graveside services for Odessa Mae Tanner Sembera, 89, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in the Greenacres Mausoleum Chapel. The Reverend Mark Ely will officiate. Pallbearers will be Donnie Westbrook, Archie Gerbine, Bill Vaughn, Chris Mitchell, Greg Santarelli and Steve Murdock. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sembera passed away Friday, October 22, 2010 in Cleburne. She was born March 1, 1921 in Sour Lake to Robert Lynn and Rosina Avanel Finch Tanner. She married Alton Ray Sembera on February 12, 1938 in Bryan.
Odessa was a retired LVN. She was past president of the Cleburne ISD PTA She was a member of the Mountain Valley and Nolan River Women's Golf Associations, the Johnson County Iris Society and College Heights Baptist Church.
Odessa is survived by four daughters, Nelda Gerbine and husband Perry of Cleburne, Peggy Carper and husband John of Rio Vista, Betty Jo Hill and husband Mitch of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Mary Tipton and husband Dennis of River Oaks; two daughters-in-law, Doris "Dee" Sembera of Houston and Marie Sembera of Coffeyville, Kansas;16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; brother, Albert Tanner and wife Martha of Moss Point, Mississippi and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alton Sembera; three sons, Alton, Jr. "Buddy" Sembera, Ervin Sembera and Douglas Sembera and one grandson, Donnie Kearns.
