Service for O.J. Hurley, 81, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 12, 2015 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend John Glover will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-4:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
O.J. Hurley passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015 in Cleburne. He was born January 20, 1934 in Clinton, Ark. to Elmer Alonzo and Viola Gardner Hurley. He married Edna Ruth Dillard on October 20, 1957 in Rosston, Ark. and she preceded him in death on May 20, 2005.
Mr. Hurley served in the United States Navy and worked as a construction superintendent, retiring with 50 years of service. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his daughters, Stacie Maples and husband John of Kempner and Tina Barnes and husband Bob of Cleburne; grandchildren, Sarah Maples, Spencer Maples, Nathan Barnes, and Katie Barnes; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bennie Hurley.
