Ola Sparks

Service for Ola Mae Sparks, 97, of Cleburne, will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Reverend Charles Payne will officiate. Burial will be in Bethany Rest Cemetery in Alvarado, Texas at 3:30 P.M. Pallbearers will be Larry Sparks, Gary Sparks, Bill King, Jonathan Wheeler, Albert Acevedo and Jayson Weaver. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the funeral home.

Ola Sparks passed Saturday, November 9, 2019 in Keene, Texas. She was born May 26, 1922 in Rogers, Texas to Emil and Vera (Dees) Salach. She married Carol Aaron Sparks January 26, 1938 in Cleburne, Texas who preceded her in death December 10, 1987. Mrs. Sparks was a self-employed seamstress who made flags for Cleburne High School Band for 20 years. She truly enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting. Ola loved her grandchildren and animals, especially her dog. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons Roy Sparks, Jimmy Sparks and wife Betty, Weldon Sparks and wife Lana, and Eddie Sparks and wife Sharon; daughter Sally Raymond; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Ruby Patterson, Vera Faye Kutej and husband Allen, and Florence Doyal.

She was also preceded by her parents; brothers Charles Salach and Jay Salach; and sisters Jennie Bennett and Mary Cochran.
